The trick-or-treating holiday go hand in hand with sweet treats, as does hosting your friends for frightful fun. Meaning there’s no better time to show off your baking skills, and uplift monstrous moods with cannabis infused treats. That’s why we’ve compiled the ultimate list of cannabis infused Halloween treats for you to haunt your guests with. So go on, and get spooky with these simple recipes to add an elevated spirit to the holiday.

Spooky sugar cookies

You can’t go wrong with sugar cookies, which makes this cannabis twist that much more likeable by guests. These classic cannabis-infused sugar cookies get a spooky twist, with holiday themed decor that’ll stand out on any platter. The treats come with a potent trick, so be sure to label as such before setting out for your group of ghouls to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • Halloween cookie cutters (optional)
  • 1 medium bowl, 1 large bowl
  • Beater or standing mixer
  • Ungreased cookie sheets
  • Frosting, icing, sprinkles or halloween decor (optional)
  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cannabis infused butter* (can reduce and replace with regular butter for less potency - i.e. ½ cup of cannabutter + ½ cup of real butter)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

  • Combine your cannabis infused butter, egg, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat with a mixer on medium speed until completely blended.
  • In a separate medium-sized bowl, combine your flour, baking powder, and salt. Sift for best results.
  • Slowly add your dry ingredients to the wet mixture, a little bit at a time. Continue to stir or mix, until the ingredients are fully incorporated. If you want, you can add sprinkles to the dough at this time or use for decor later.
  • Form your dough into a ball, and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the refrigerator for at least an hour, or longer.
  • When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 375°F. Remove your dough from the refrigerator.
  • Sprinkle flour onto a flat surface, and roll dough out until it’s approximately ⅓ inch thick. Use your Halloween cookie cutters to cut individual cookies out. Transfer the shaped dough to ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes or when you notice the tops becoming a light golden brown.
  • When done, remove cookies from tray and place on a cooling rack to cool
  • Once cooled, frost with orange, black, green, purple or green colored frosting and get creative with decorating! Using icing to add spiderwebs, jack-o-lantern faces, ghosts, ‘boo’ lettering, or witch hats.

Cannabis Pumpkin Bread

It’s pumpkin spice season, and no ultimate halloween treat list is without a good recipe for pumpkin bread. Even better, this version is cannabis-infused to add an extra element of elevation to your spice filled loaf. You can whip up this recipe with leftover pumpkin flesh from carving jack-o-lanterns, or year-round with canned pumpkin puree.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf pan (9x5 in)
  • 1 medium bowl, 1 large bowl
  • Beater or stand mixer
  • ½ cup cannabis infused coconut oil (or reduce for potency and substitute with regular coconut oil, i.e. ¼ cup cannabis infused coconut oil + ¼ cup regular coconut oil)
  • 1 ⅔ cups flour (all-purpose)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (or puree 1 cup flesh of fresh pumpkin)
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously grease your loaf pan with cooking spray, butter, vegetable oil or coconut oil.
  • In your medium bowl, mix the flour (sift prior), salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Combine until fully mixed and set aside.
  • In your large bowl or stand mixer, beat the sugar, pumpkin puree, coconut oil, water, vanilla extract, and eggs together on medium speed. Stop mixing when the mixture is just blended.
  • On a lower speed, slowly add your dry ingredients a little bit at a time until completely combined.
  • Pour your batter into the greased loaf pan, and put into the oven. Bake for 65 - 70 minutes, checking with a toothpick in the center of the loaf ensuring it comes out clean. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for around 10 minutes, and then place onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
  • Want to add a glaze? Mix powdered sugar + milk until the right consistency, and drizzle over the top.

THC Infused Pumpkin Seeds

There’s nothing better than enjoying roasted pumpkin seeds after successfully carving your jack-o-lanterns. Unless of course, your pumpkin seeds come with an additional punch of potency from THC. Ingredients

  • Baking sheet
  • Strainer
  • ¾ cup - 2 cups of raw pumpkin seeds (adjust ingredients as necessary for your # of seeds)
  • 2-3 tablespoons of cannabis-infused coconut oil, butter or olive oil
  • Kosher Salt + your choice of spices for flavoring. Ideas include -
    • Brown or white sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg
    • Garlic powder or cajun seasoning, etc.

Method

  • Preheat oven to 300°F.
  • Clean your pumpkin seeds removing any pumpkin flesh or parts from the shells.
  • With your strainer, lightly rinse the pumpkin seeds under cold water and pat dry. If you prefer more crispy seeds, let the seeds soak in cold water for up to 10 minutes.
  • Spread out the pumpkin seeds onto your baking sheet and ensure none are overlapping. Melt your butter or coconut oil, and drizzle over seeds (no melting required when using cannabis infused olive oil).
  • Sprinkle salt and the seasonings of your choice on top of the seeds.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, pulling out of the oven when light to golden brown.
  • Allow your seeds to cool, and then enjoy!

Weed Popcorn Balls

Popcorn balls are a staple amongst holiday desserts, and are customizable to your taste and theme. With this cannabis infused twist to a classic popcorn ball recipe, you can snack your way to an elevated buzz. These weed popcorn treats are not only aesthetically pleasing, but a delightful fright to enjoy, too.

Ingredients

  • Roasting pan
  • Pot for popping popcorn
  • Saucepan
  • Large bowl
  • Wax paper
  • Your choice of add-ins. Ideas including -
    • Chocolate chips
    • Crushed leftover candy
    • Mini marshmallows
    • Candy corn
    • Gummi worms
  • 4 tablespoons of cannabis infused coconut oil
  • 1 cup butter (salted preferred)
  • 2 cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup popcorn kernels

Method

  • Combine your cannabis-infused coconut oil, and popcorn kernels in a pot or pan for popping. Turn the burner on to high heat.
  • Stir the kernels and oil, to ensure that each is coated evenly and cover the pot with a lid.
  • Allow the kernels to pop, until the popping slows to about 2 seconds between each kernel. Remove the pot from the oven and pour the popped popcorn into a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Place your saucepan over medium heat, and add the butter, brown sugar, salt, and corn syrup. Stir together, and let boil for approximately 5 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the heat, and quickly stir in baking soda. Make sure to incorporate completely.
  • Pour the mixture over the popped popcorn, using a wooden spoon to stir and coat completely.
  • Add the contents to your large roaster pan (or cake pan) and bake in the oven at 200 °F for 30 minutes. Stir halfway through.
  • Remove the popcorn from the oven after 30 minutes, and stir in desired add-ins. Once mixed, and while still warm, form the popcorn into balls and place on waxed paper to set and dry.

Cannabis infused coconut oil

For a number of these recipes you will need to use cannabis infused coconut oil. This simple recipe is easily adapted if you want a higher or lower dosage, you can also substitute the coconut oil for butter or olive oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cannabis (7-10grams)
  • 1 Cup coconut oil

what you will need

  • Grinder
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking tray
  • Saucepan/double boiler
  • Cheesecloth
  • Mason jar (or similar)

Method

  • Firstly you will need to grind up your bud ready to decarboxylate. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread your ground bud over it, ready to put in the oven.
  • Place in to oven at 240F/115C for 30-45 minutes. Once out let it cool.
  • Add your coconut oil to a saucepan or double boiler and begin melting on a low heat. Once the oil has melted add in your cannabis and continue to warm for 2-3 hours stirring occasionally.
  • Now place the cheesecloth over the top of the jar you are using and slowly pour the oil mixture on to it. Allow the oil to strain through in to the jar, until all that is left in the cloth is plant matter.
  • Place a lid on the jar and store in the refrigerator. The oil will solidify and is then ready to use.
