Super Sour Deisel: Old School Skunkiness
The Super Sour Diesel seeds eventually become multi-color plants featuring green leaves, white hairs, orange and nearly white buds. Almost the entirety of the plant is covered in dusty resin that makes this strain super sticky to match its one of a kind scent and taste. When fully grown you can even see shades of purple on the massive buds at the top of the plant. Dried and cured the nuggets are equal parts green and amber and when broken apart they release a pungent aroma recognizable all over the world as a dank weed. Super Sour Diesel won the IC420 Growers Cup in 2009 and 2010 as well as the Magnolia State Cannabis Cup in 2024. Super Sour Diesel’s resume is as good as it gets in the cannabis universe. If you have some experience in cannabis cultivation then Super Sour Diesel is a great strain to add to your grow operation. Virgin growers might have a bit of trouble bringing this strain to harvest.
Growing Tips for Our Seeds
Super Sour Diesel seeds are a bit temperamental and require patience, a steady hand and the right environment to grow successfully. While Super Sour Diesel can be cultivated outdoors, this strain performs best indoors. If you have a limited amount of indoor space, you’ll need to trim and prune it regularly to ensure good airflow and light saturation. Whether grown indoors or outdoors, Super Sour Diesel feminized cannabis seeds prefer a warm and temperate setting.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: Super Sour Deisel plants can be grown both indoors and outdoors. The strain does better indoors however. The ideal temperature for these plants is between 70-80 degrees fahrenheit. At night, the plants can handle slightly cooler temps.
- Moisture control: Relative humidity levels should be approximately 45-55% during the vegetative phase and around 40% during the flowering phase as this particular strain is susceptible to mold and mildew.
- Training Techniques: Strategies like pruning, topping, and low stress training (LST) wil help control plant height and width while also creating an even canopy allowing light to get to all levels of the plant from top to bottom.
The Germination Game Plan
Before you even plant your Super Sour Diesel female cannabis plants, you will first need to germinate these seeds. To do so, refer to our free germination guide, knowing that they are backed by our impressive 90% germination guarantee.
Yields, Flowering Time and Harvest
- Flowering Time: With indoor grows you can expect the Super Sour Deisel strain to harvest after an average flowering period of 65-75 days. Cultivated outdoors, this strain is ready to be harvested around late October. At this time, you can see Super Sour Diesel’s colorful buds, which are thickly coated in a blanket of snowy crystal trichomes and are threaded through with orange and yellow pistils.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 300 grams per square meter and outdoor grows typically produce up to 400 grams per plant. Considering the high THC content and effects of this strain the yields are solid.
Dominant Terpenes in Super Sour Diesel: A Super Strain
The Super Sour Diesel terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells, tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is limonene, myrcene, and caryophyllene are the secondary terpenes.
- Limonene: Most Dominant– Naturally found in citrus rinds this terpene provides a lemony, skunky aroma and flavor.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – Known for its relaxing and sedative effects, also has the ability to put users to sleep.
- Caryophyllene: Peppery and Spicy – Found in rosemary and clove oil, caryophyllene is known as the “peppery” terpene.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Super Sour Deisel:
Cannabinoids play an important role in Super Sour Diesel seeds and are generally a huge part of most cannabis strains. That euphoric, happy, and focused feeling you get when enjoying the Super Sour Diesel strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something different to the user.
- THC: The Main Character – THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out around 25%, the THC in the Sativa strain is responsible for the euphoric and happy feeling you get when using Super Sour Diesel.
- CBD: Very Minimal Amounts – While the CBD levels in Super Sour Diesel are less than 1% the cannabinoid is still present and the effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain and even stress. The CBD in the Super Sour Diesel strain, even in its low amounts definitely has a positive effect on the user.
